No church shared more with me in the manner of giving and receiving, except you alone. For even when I was in Thessalonica, you sent me help for my needs more than once.

A Call To Holy Orders . . .
. . . is a summons to serve others for the sake of building up God’s Kingdom. Since I was a teenager I have felt driven to minister by way of the Word and Sacraments. My home parish, Christ Church Cathedral, convened a Discernment Group which confirmed this calling to the Sacred Order of Priests in The Episcopal Church. Called by God and by the Church, I am humbled yet thrilled to press forward that I might offer all of who I am for the sake of Christ in this world. However, no person can do this alone.
The Road Ahead
With a background in ministry, and a PhD in New Testament studies, I have already fulfilled many of the pastoral, biblical, and theological academic requirements for the priesthood. To prepare me for a deep and lifelong ministry, I now must embark upon a year of Anglican Studies, specifically exploring the liturgy and polity of our Church. The General Theological Seminary in New York City will offer me a wonderful opportunity to study, reflect on, and explore our tradition.
How You Can Make A Difference
Our first need is for your prayers—and we ask you for them, as we also commit to pray for you. Beyond prayer, we welcome the sponsorship offered through the Seminarian Fund established at Holy Family Episcopal Church.
Our Journey in Faith
My partner, Christian, and I have backgrounds both practical and academic. He is currently a PhD student at Indiana University in Bloomington. As a foreigner, he cannot seek employment while in the States, which is one of the reasons we are especially grateful for the Seminarian Fund.
In 2009, in preparation for the priesthood, I “shadowed” The Rev. Michael Galvin at Holy Family Episcopal Church. I was thereafter hired as its office administrator, and have spent the past year learning in an church office setting under his guidance—an invaluable experience!
Christian and I have been together for nine years, having committed our lives to each other in the Lord in 2001. Mike established this fund as a means for our friends and family to support us as we move forward. Christian must remain in Indianapolis while I study in New York, and being apart for a year will be difficult. We are, however, committed to making the sacrifices needed to pursue this calling. We want the Kingdom to grow!
How To Give Your Support
Contributions made to the Seminarian Fund at Holy Family are tax deductible, and will go directly to sponsoring us through this year of Anglican Studies. We appreciate any amount that you might be able to give, and know that a future date may work better to contribute. The Seminarian Fund will be active through the entire year I attend General Theological Seminary. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
